Alligator Clips

I was getting pretty fed up of getting dirt or dust on model pieces, trying to hold them with my pliers while painting, or how to balance them to dry safely so I’ve invested in a large back of small alligator clips. I used some small wood skewers from the kitchen to attach to the clips, and an old amazon shipping box for them to stick into. I reckon this is going to help a lot.

We tried the clips on the feet of Dragonite, a Pokemon that one of my daughters had built. She masked the toes (that we’d filled in with some Milliput rather than leave them hollow) and painted the soles with yellow using the airbrush. The clips held the feet tight and there appeared to be no danger of the piece flying off and getting dirty while painting.
