Lego Exo Suit

Now for something a little different!DSC02080The Lego Exo Suit is a fan-build that Lego have turned into an actual product. If you enjoyed Lego Space in the late 70s / early 80s, this kit is for you!DSC02081The box is sturdy and big enough to spread all the bits for safe building. The manual is a good quality book. DSC02082 Inside you get the story of the designer and how the model came about.DSC02083 DSC02084 The pictures are great!DSC02085Now onto the build. You get two classic-looking space figures in green, one male, one female. Doesn’t that space logo bring back the memories? DSC02086 First you build the “turtle”, which remind me of the Tachikoma from Ghost in the Shell.DSC02087 You get this great little base with yellow barrels. Then you build the Exo Suit itself.DSC02088 You start with the chest section of the Exo Suit. DSC02089 Clear yellow and grey!DSC02091 The feet are very detailed.DSC02092 The legs are very complex with lots of added detail parts to give the feel of hydraulics.DSC02093 Legs nearly done and attached.DSC02094 Arms done. Interesting use of barrels!DSC02095 The build took about 45 minutes.DSC02096 The claw hands are great!DSC02097 There were a few parts left over. I like how they included a nice part separator.DSC02098 DSC02099 DSC02100 DSC02101 DSC02102What a great Lego kit.

    1. I still have most, if not all my Lego from when I was young and a lot of the instruction booklets too, but not in the best of shape. I don’t have any of the old space sets built up though. My girls recently built up some creations of their own and did well winning the local library’s Lego competition.
