1/100 Launcher Sword Strike part 4

The paint is dry, the top coat cured and we’ve reached that fun part of the build where you add the armour pieces and assemble.DSC01071And because of all the work up-front, it took only a few minutes to put everything together. I’ve kept the photos with the blue/red/pearl on the left and the deactivated/white scheme on the right. DSC01072 The skirt section goes together well and has tonnes of detail brought out by the extensive masking.DSC01073 The small colour details on the rear are a little lost though.DSC01074 Here you can actually make out the pearl armour on the left compared to the plain white on the right. The masking has brought out tonnes of detail on these parts. There are not many panel lines because with all those pieces you hardly need them.DSC01075 The feet just needed their single white/grey armour piece added.DSC01076 Ankles are simple, but seem to work well. DSC01078 I do like the shoulder sections. Their design is simple enough, but the detail looks great.DSC01079The completed arms went together very well, with the armour firmly snapping into place. Again, I’m pleased I went for lots of masking for the details, although there were places I could just paint a whole piece grey or white to get the differentiation. DSC01080 I love the look of the head. The tiny side panels were a right pain to fit though!DSC01081 I couldn’t resist taking a picture during assembly as it was just looking so good.DSC01082 And fully assembled, this is one mean deactivated Strike!DSC01083 Just a quick shot of the soles of the feet.DSC01084 The inside of the skirt section looks great, with nice detailing.DSC01085 The normal coloured Strike looks pretty mean too.DSC01086And here’s the Strike Brothers together.

Now onwards to the weapon packs!

  1. Hello GN,

Please teach me how did you paid those hands? Are they getting stiff because of the paint?

    Thank you in advance! 🙂

  2. For the hands I just gently separate out the fingers so that they’re not all close together, so that I can spray the hand and make sure the paint gets on all sides.

I use Tamiya gunmetal, thinned with the Tamiya lacquer thinner which makes for a thin tough paint that dries rapidly and doesn’t cause the fingers to get stiff.

    1. Wow! Thank you very much for the advised GN! :)…

Been reading your site for quiet awhile.. And I’m loving it.. 🙂

  3. Thanks Jade. Sorry your comment didn’t get answered earlier. Ask away on questions though as that helps me a lot to know what details I need to put into my blog, or what to do for a “Tips & Tricks”.

  4. Both! The red and blue metallic parts on the Sword Strike are left glossy (Future Finish) and the rest of the armour on both Sword and Launcher are flat coated with Alclad Flat.
