With most of the frame done in Tamiya gunmetal, we can move onto assembly.I added some shadows in Tamiya smoke. It’s subtle, but looks pretty good.
The yellow pieces were Tamiya lemon, with Tamiya clear over the top. The Tamiya yellow paints have really good coverage, and the layer of clear yellow just warms up the colour a bit without sending it to orange. To put a bit of detail on the frame, I painted some sections with Alclad polished brass. And the pistons were painted with Alclad copper. The overall effect is great. I took a similar route with the feet – a nice mix of gunmetal, brass, copper and aluminium. And here we can see the subtle difference of the clear red over the gunmetal on the feet compared to the pearl red. It actually looks a bit stronger in real life than this photo though.
